Warrented EP 14: Jennie Smythe
We are back!
Jennie Smythe, Founder and CEO of Girlilla Marketing was kind enough to zoom in with me this episode.
Jennie has been on my list for podcast guests since I started and I couldn’t be more excited to have her join for episode 14.
From being included in Billboard’s Country Power Player List to being featured in Fast Company, People, HITS, and many more, Jennie has accomplished so much.
We walk through her path to where she is now and the catalyst to start her own company.
Jennie began her career working in LA at Elektra Entertainment where she thought “she had made it.”
Early in her career she describes hopping from job to job - Jennie is real and vulnerable talking about her missteps in her journey. She opens up about her success at such a young age while also looking back at pivotal moments and the importance of mentors.
From Disney to Yahoo Music, each new job leading her to launch Girlilla Marketing in Nashville.
In 2008, Jennie launched Girlilla Marketing and is celebrating 13 years of a thriving business. An incredible feat for any entrepreneur.
Her client roster includes some of country’s biggest names and actors and actresses such as Kristin Chenoweth and Chrissy Metz.
She has created a powerhouse company with talented woman at the helm.
When she launched her company she knew what she wanted to do - she already had clients and quickly began aiming at specific goals to grow.
She is a fearless leader and this episode was fun and such a learning lesson.
We talk about marketing, work-life balance, mentors… There is not much we don’t cover!
