Warrented EP. 3: Laurel Kittleson
It’s time for episode three!
For this hour, I sat down with Laurel Kittleson, VP of Artist Development and A&R at Curb Records.
Rewind 20 years, in a small cow-town in Washington, there was a young girl dreaming of being part of the next Dixie Chicks.
She loved music and singing but then quickly realized she disliked being on stage.
She knew she still wanted to do something in the music industry, so after two years at community college, Laurel transferred to Belmont University in Nashville, TN.
She has worked with some of the biggest artists, writers, and names in country music.
Having worked in many facets of the music industry, Laurel found her true passion in A&R and artist development.
For seven years At Big Machine some of her artist roster included Taylor Swift, Thomas Rhett, Florida Georgi Line, Rascal Flatss and many more.
She recently moved over to Curb Records as the VP of artist development and A&R
Laurel played a major role in the signing and development of 2018 ACM New Male Vocalist Brett Young and up-and-comer Dan Smalley.
Today we will talk about her journey in the music industry, work-life balance and so much more!
